Quentin Davies defection

Well the wheels have well and truly come off for Project Cameron with the announcement of Quentin Davies defection to Labour. In defecting and in making such a devastating critique on David Cameron, it's an indictment on his whole leadership and his opportunistic tendencies. I believe that many of the British public will come to a similar conclusion about David Cameron in the months ahead.

With Gordon Brown taking over as Prime Minister tomorrow it's a great start to his Premiership as it shows we still have an ability to reach out and appeal to people across the political spectrum.

Is it actually good for the Labour party to be accepting Tories like this into the fold? If I was a Labour party member in Grantham I'd be making sure that Mr Davies was deselected at the first available opportunity . . .

I live in Grantham and think it is wrong that Quentin Davies should remain as the MP for the town. He knows that people voted for him at the last General Election because he was the candidate for the Conservative Party.
If he had any integrity he would immediately resign and stand for Labour in the by-election. He won't do this because he knows that people in Grantham despise him. No wonder politics is regarded with such contempt.
Also, why do we need so many MPs? They are clearly not overworked - my suggestion is to halve the number of MPs in the House of Commons. Nobody would notice!
